Cagayan de Oro City is best known as an outdoor adventure destination. It is also a growing commercial destination in the Northern Mindanao. Two hours away from my hometown, Cagayan de Oro is the go-to-city for food, and city scene that one could not find and experience back home. So it’s no surprise if you find me frequently visiting CDO for shopping, and for gastronomic adventure if not the outdoor adventures and fun it offers. I usually stay there for a night or two, and I’ve always preferred finding different accommodations in Cagayan de Oro during my stays

Always comfortable stay at New Dawn Pensionne

A few weekends ago, my friends and I decided we have a long weekend stay at Cagayan de Oro to get away from work, and weekday stress. We wanted a staycation, and experience Cagayan de Oro as a city to just unwind. We decided to stay for the weekend, and to meet up with friends, and explore the food scene of Cagayan de Oro. We stayed at New Dawn Pensionne which is fairly recognizable given that it is a sister hotel from one I stayed at before, which was WinMin Transient Inn at Agora Terminal, CDO. New Dawn Pensionne though is located at one of the busiest streets in the city and a few minutes away from the malls. It was the perfect place for us to stay at! The room as expected had spacious leg room with standard sized double, and single bed. The room was decently clean, and the linens were crisps, and the relaxing to the eyes bottle green wall. The room is airconditioned with cable television, and complimentary bottles of water.

And if you know me, you’d guess the reason why I loved their rooms — ample and spacious leg space! There was enough leg room at both sides of the bed, and around the desk area. Given that there were three of us in that room that weekend, we did not feel too cramped up. The comfort room was clean, and with complimentary toiletries. I was glad they have a working hot shower – which was a comfort after going around the city.

There was also Wifi connection available in the room and also at the common lounge area by the lobby, and dining area. They offer breaskfast of staying, and visiting guest for a rate of 89PhP, which was already a steal. Breakfast was buffet style, and serve from 7AM to 10AM at the dining area.

It was a great place to stay at if you’re travelling with family, groups of friends, or even for business. There’s a healthy mix of types of travelers when we were having our breakfast at the dining area. The place gives off a sense of familiarity and security even when it is located smack in the center of busy Cagayne de Oro City.
