Looking into international travel by yourself or with your family? Filipinos can now easily apply or renew for the Philippine Passport at the Department of Foreign Affairs and its multiple satellite offices all over the country. If you’re finding it hard to book an appointment in the DFA satellites, DFA has launched Temporary Off-Site Passport Services or DFA-TOPS. These government service express satellites was launched in 2021 after a heightened demand for appointment slots in accessible areas during the pandemic – allowing Filipinos to apply or renew passports conveniently.
Easy step guide to apply or renew for a Philippine passport
Step 1: Book an appointment slot and choose a venue
Book a slot through DFA’s official booking website: www.passport.gov.ph. The site offers a scheduling system that lets you choose your preferred DFA site and select an available date and time slot for either individual or group appointments.
Step 2: Fill up application form
Accurately provide the necessary and correct information in the form. For passport renewals, bring your old passport and note the details such as your passport number, date of issue, and issuing office.
- Make sure to correctly fill in your information. DFA officers cannot edit these fields on site so you will need a new appointment.
- Be on time and complete the online process quickly since booked slots is only reserved for 30 to 60 minutes.
Step 3: Review the information before proceeding to payment.
Make sure to properly review all your information before confirming and proceeding to payment. When you’re ready, you can choose from these processing options: Regular processing at DFA sites at P950 (12 days) and Expedited Processing at P1,200(6 days). Keep in mind that there is no option for expedited processing in Temporary Off-Site Passport Services (TOPS) facility and the fee is set at P1,200 for regular processing (12 to 15 days).
You can opt to pay for your passport processing fees through select payment centers nationwide or via debit or credit card. Important: All fees are non-refundable and will be forfeited if you fail to show up for your appointment, if you cancel your slot, or if your application is rejected due to wrong information or discrepancies.
Step 4: Wait for your confirmation e-mail.
Your application form will be sent to the e-mail address that you provided. Print the form and bring it on the date of your appointment, along with other necessary documents. Read here for a complete list of requirements.

Step 5: Show up to your appointment.
Make sure you’re at the site at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment, and in proper, decent attire. Minor applicants, seniors, pregnant women, and persons with disability are allowed to have one companion inside the site. Don’t forget to mask up, too, and to observe health protocols.
Are walk-ins allowed for passport application or renewal?
Eligible individuals are only allowed for Walk-ins and Courtesy Lane with their the complete requirements. Keep in mind that it is best to check the cut-off time for walk-in applicants for your preferred site before going.
Who can avail of the Courtesy Lane?
- Senior Citizen and can be accompanied by one adult (Senior Citizen ID card required)
- Pregnant or Expecting Woman with proof of pregnancy (medical certificate)
- Persons with Disabilities (Valid PWD ID required)
- Solo Parents (Valid Solo Parent ID)
- Minors aged 7 years old and below (documents required)
Step 6: Choose Claiming or Delivery option.
Once you are done with the whole process, you can choose between pick-up and courier delivery options for your passport.
