The location of Choco-Late de Batirol is at the Igorot Park near the Camp John Hay Gate 2 which is near the Baguio Country Club. It is a small shack by the road, and covered with trees, and shrubs.
Choco-Late de Batirol makes the chocolate drink in a traditional way. The first heat the drink on the stove, and transfer it in a metal pot a use a wooden rod called batirol and stir the chocolate drink by rotating the rod in between your palms. This thinkens the chocolate drink and adds more are into the drink. There are different varieties of the chocolate drink but we prefer the plain and traditional recipe.
To go along with our drink, we ordered Suman sa Lihia of sticky rice cake topped with coconut flakes and brown sugar. This is a popular Filipino merienda, and Baguio has a different twist to it. We also ordered Bibingka which is a favorite Filipino snack as well.
Choco-late de Batirol is a familiar place to the locals. Most of the people who visits the place are tourists and locals and there is enough sitting areas for everyone.
