The calendar has hit the dreaded second month of the year when there’s the over emphasis of couples and coupling. Travel and travel dates have always been a great way for couples to spend time and/or get to know each other. But what if you’re a young Filipino couple who comes from conservative Filipino families?

Travel For The Right Reason
If you’re not yet married, and if you come from a conservative Filipino family like mine, you might want to reconsider traveling alone together. Always ask yourself and your partner why you’re traveling together because it might break family rules and jeopardizes your principles. The best way to go at it is to travel with a group if you want to travel together. If you’re mature enough, and you still plan to experience traveling as a couple, separate accommodation arrangements is the safest and best way to go at it.
Communicate & Respect Each Other’s Space
Remember that the trip is as much as an individual experience as much as a couple. Always consider each other’s plans, places, and activities of interrest that he/she may want to visit, or to experience.
Keep Your Finances Separate
Unless you guys are married, keep budgeting and financing separate. This will allow you to see how much you’ve been spending or if there’s a need to curb down your expenses. Always make sure you have money on you just in case you get separated. Have some extra cash on hand, and not just enough for the expected expenses to incur but for unforeseen or emergency situations.
Accept What You Don’t Have Control Over
There will be circumstances that is beyond your control like weather not cooperating, cancelled flights or tour packages, or having to cut your travel short. Don’t make too much of a fuss about it. Instead make do what whatever the circumstances throws at you.
When you’re at the right age, and at the right season of your life, travel date is always a good idea to get away from the stresses of work, and of managing the household. It’s a good way to spend time with your loved one, and a great way to spend time with each other.
