Morning found me at the airport still weary from a night of late work, and an early morning flight. It was weekday, and lately I’ve been spending my nights cocooned going through some freelance work regardless of travel schedule. Discovery Suites Ortigas in Metro Manila
Discovery Suites Ortigas is quietly distinctive in the busy but organized streets of Ortigas, Pasig City. The small town girl in me rejoiced knowing I don’t have to struggle with loads of humans every time I go in and out of the hotel. Because the Metro can be overwhelming, Ortigas Center being a financial and central business district in Metro Manila is not as chaotic as some parts of the Metro are.
The suite where we stayed was fit for a family, or for long staying guests . They made our stay comfortable for us. Don’t get me wrong though, Discovery Suites Ortigas is at a prime location for both business, and commercial district that most guest are either up for a staycation or for business meetings around the area – one can definitely mix both. It is the preferred address of business and leisure travelers, as it balances the convenience of a spacious residence with the personal touches of a hotel.
The guestrooms are designed to accommodate all kinds of travelers, with a special consideration for the needs of long stay guests. There’s a full functional spacious kitchen complete with cookware and dining utensils. Generous dining area space, and living area with entertainment center. All these were separated from the sleeping quarters. So you can relax like it was your home with spaces too comforting to realize your at a hotel.

Dining at their in-house restaurants
I stayed at Discovery Suites bringing work along with me. For a freelancer who relies on internet to meet with clients and work on tasks, it’s important for me to find hotels that not only has good internet connection but also at a good location where find great dining option.
Dining options include its flagship steak restaurant 22 Prime and also the Restaurant 5, both of which served delicious food choices. But my favorite would be Prime 22 for their selection of steaks – specifically Wagyu Hanger Steak. The steak restaurant is, definitely, worth visiting even if you’re not an in-house guest.

Amenities for Leisure
Guests may use the hotel’s amenities such as the Balance Lifestyle Fitness Club and the swimming pool. It also takes pride in developing a professional team committed to rendering “Service That’s All Heart”, evidently shown through cordial gestures and display of utmost care towards guests.
Mind you I was not expecting Discovery Suites to go out of their way making sure I enjoyed my stay. They made sure my stay would be memorable, and it was.
