Lately I have been traveling in two week periods. And when others consider that a long travel already, I am comfortable at calling it in between short and long travel. However, I hate carrying massive luggage and heavy backpack so I do not pack heavily for a two week travel. Here is how to pack light without sacrificing your style.

Choose pieces that work double-duty
When you’re traveling long term-term, at least for a few weeks to months, consider packing the basics. These can easily be dressed up or down. It can be comfortable pair of stretchy black pants and your favorite sweater are cozy night out with friends. Swap the sweater for a blouse and add a pair of slip-ons for a casual breakfast date. Reusing items means that you will have to wash some clothing items in the middle of your trip. So it is best to reuse items that are easy to wash, and quick to dry.
Stick to a palette
I’ve said this before, and I will say this again – colour coordinate your outfits. Choose primarily neutral/solid pieces that you can easily mix and match them with one another. Add colors that are within the same family. For example, pack mostly black and white items and add a few pops of blue, or orange.
Pick pre-layered pieces
Go for sweaters with mixed layers and textures. The built-in layers add interest on their own, so you don’t have to pack additional layering pieces.
Compartmentalize
Use pouches of all shapes and sizes to stay organized and corral items that would otherwise take up unnecessary free space. We also like to save the dustbags that come with our handbags to organize shoes, laundry and other larger items.
Don’t let wrinkles slow you down
Choose fabrics that are wrinkle-resistant. We love our nylon-blend dresses because the fabric is designed to be (nearly!) impossible to wrinkle. Roll them up in your suitcase and they’ll be ready to go when you unpack.
